The name conjures up images in your head even now.
Even if you have never met one, you immediately know what they look like. Short legs, compact bodies, perky ears and tail, long snout with a distinctive beard, expressive brown eyes (ok, you might not know about the eyes unless you've met one in person)
Their sturdy little bodies house a tenacious will, a fearless attitude, and a huge heart.
Recently Scotties have been in the news and the public eye again as a plucky little Scottie named Sadie won Best in Show at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club championship.
But you don't have to own a Scottie to love them.
As a child, I watched Lady and the Tramp (Jock), I wore clothing with Scottie dogs patched into the design, I even dated (and later married) a man whose family had known nothing but Scotties as pets! It was only a few years ago that I became the proud mama of a my own rescued Scottie named Sassy.
